Just another day in paradise.

My husband and I are off on a tropical trip, which feels like bliss (and it is) but I would be lying if I didn’t admit that the planning of a beach vacation always makes me wish I had prepped a bit earlier and had been doing 5-mile runs and endless sit-ups all year long.  Which I haven’t by the way.  After a few days of planning, I always end up ditching the 'woe is me’ attitude and dive right in for all the fun, regardless of the size and shape I’m showing up as.

But, the idea of preparation always makes me think of relationships.

You see, preparation and planning are key to your partnership and the work of sustained connection takes a lot of time and energy.

But, I’ll tell you what... it all pays off when you’re weathering a rough patch and need to pull from your reserves to get you through.

Essentially, when it comes to love, you need to…

Get ready before it gets real.

Do the work now… so you can draw from it down the road.

Put in the effort now… so you have reserves to pull from.

Have the difficult conversation now… so it doesn’t grow bigger than necessary.

Take the time to get ready… before it gets real.

And if you need some help or pointers on how to ‘get ready’… reach out… that’s what I’m here for!!

You got this!
