Have each other’s back.

My husband drives me crazy sometimes. There, I said it. He’s an amazing guy and I’m lucky to have him in my life. He’s also human (and so am I) and sometimes we drive each other a little nuts.

But regardless of all the little ways we annoy each other (which I may do on purpose every once in a while for comedic relief), we have each other’s backs…no matter what.

And having each other’s back sounds great, but what does it really mean in love?

Because it’s far more than just backing each other up.

It means that you know how to support one another as partners, even if you don’t necessarily agree on the point.
It means holding each other accountable and not colluding with bad behaviors.
It means having the ability to know when your mate needs some additional encouragement and not a devil’s advocate.
It means communicating through hard stuff despite frustrations, disappointments, and misunderstandings.

Defending instead of attacking.

It means not talking smack about each other to your friends and family…regardless of how tempting it can feel in the moment.
It means being a united front until you can slow down together, behind the scenes, and get to the root of it.

Having each other’s back is bigger and more important than you sometimes realize… because at the end of the day, it’s the heart of the two of you being on the same page.

I encourage you to spend some time getting back to basics and reestablishing what it means to be on the same page. I know your relationship will appreciate it.

And don’t forget to take advantage of the $50 discount on the Communication Masterclass all this month. Communication is the literal foundation of your partnership.
