Is Your Relationship A Little Out Of Focus?

I got new glasses this month and I can’t believe what a difference it’s making in my life. Everything feels more clear and in focus and, as much as I love to see better, I also get how much simpler things can seem when they’re a bit out of focus.

When it comes to relationships, sometimes you want more of a blurry perspective because you don’t want the reminder that your perspective is slightly skewed.  You tend to be “more clear” on what your partner is doing to create disconnection and you lack “focus” on how you’re actually showing up (i.e. the choices you’re making).

You have great power to choose the perspective you’re taking, and I’m a BIG believer that life is rarely black and white.  Unfortunately, when you choose a perspective of being blameless or unable to contribute to a solution, it’s often a very destructive perspective.  I don’t want that for you or your relationship.

This week’s relationship tip is meant to encourage you to get a bit clearer about your part of that disconnecting dance that occurs between the two of you.

I hope that you use this weeks’ relationship tip as a way to step back and take a fresh glance at how you’re showing up, and really focus in on the things you can control and change. The more you’re able to do this, the more you’re able to create a  balanced and potentially accurate perspective on how you can grow in love.

Best of luck,

-A
