Puppy Love

We got a new puppy and it feels like our household is complete again, now that sweet Libby girl is here. It’s been almost a year since our sweet pup of 13 years passed away and our hearts have healed enough to open ourselves up to all the things a puppy brings into a home.

And despite the woes of potty training, finding the right chew toys for her to gnaw on, and seeing if the kids are really following through on all the promises of taking sole care of her (enter sarcasm), it’s all puppy love over here.

The thing I love most about having a dog is how unconditionally loving they are.

It doesn’t matter how long I’ve been gone, Libby is ALWAYS excited to see me. And from the moment she wakes up to the moment she falls asleep… she is full of energy and joy. The neighbor kid literally nicknamed her ‘a little furball of joy’. Having a bad day or stuck in a bad mood… doesn’t matter… Libby is there for the belly rubs and puppy naps.

And that’s my encouragement for the week…

Love each other like your pets love you.

Your pet is always excited to see you.

Your pet instantly forgives bad moods and bad choices.

Your pet is quick to forgive and go in for the loves.

Your pet doesn’t let things linger and is always ready for the fun.

Yes, I realize that being in a relationship with your mate isn’t as simple as being in a relationship with your pet. But that doesn’t mean we can’t strive to love a bit more unconditionally, a bit more forgiving, and all around more loving.

I can’t wait to hear how this moves you and never hesitate to bring your pet to our sessions. I love being able to meet them all!

Until next week,

-A
