A step back

I just returned from 5 days away with two of the most lovely ladies who also happen to be helpers/healers like me. The three of us squirreled away to spend some much-needed downtime away from work and the craziness of our families and lives. We soaked up every moment with lots of business discussions, big steps made on even bigger projects, and a whole lot of laughter and yummy food. My heart is full and I feel completely rejuvenated.

I’ve held this annual tradition for 7 years now and it’s one that I can’t encourage enough. The ability to step back from almost all aspects of my life, for just a few days, gives me so much perspective.

It helps me appreciate the people around me a lot more.
It helps me realize some of the bad habits that I need to break.
It helps me see the totality of where I’m spending my energy and what needs to be adjusted.
It helps me gain perspective in some of the most beneficial ways.

And not all of that perspective is necessarily positive. But I try to stay open to all of it, because it really is valuable, regardless if it’s comfortable.

Which is really my encouragement to you this week.

Create perspective, regardless if it’s comfortable.

Our lives, our relationships, they all need perspective and it’s vitally important to see things with a little bit more objectivity. It helps you know where to celebrate, where to pivot, and what needs to be shored up.

Create your version of perspective and see what it illuminates for you.

I know your relationship will benefit from it.

Until next week,
