Falling away.

I saw a really cool quote the other day; author unknown.
Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go.

For someone who loves Fall, this really spoke to me.  If you’d ask my husband and kids how many times during autumn I point out the beautiful colors on the trees, they’d roll their eyes and tell you more than any human can count.

I love the change in the temperature, the aesthetic shifts in our scenery, and the reminder that what served a purpose during spring and summer, needs to fall away in order to create space for new.

There’s a settling in and slowing down that Fall requires. A reflective look back at the year and an anticipation of what’s ahead.

And although I think that the idea of “letting go” misses the mark a great deal… because we’re humans, who are shaped by our experiences and the idea of letting go is pretty unrealistic, but I digress. What I do believe, deep within me, is that we’re not meant to carry it all. And we’re certainly not meant to try and do so alone.

Instead, you are called to release what no longer serves you. To trust that what needs to fall away will create room for something beautiful to grow in its place. To accept support as you practice not trying to carry it all by yourself. To look for the beauty in what is changing all around you.

My hope for you this Fall is that you’re able to use this season to remind you to slow down, settle in, and release… all for the purpose of making room for the beauty that’s in store.

Sending you encouragement and support.

P.S. I know it can be so hard to release old hurt and be open to change. And yet, your relationship asks this of you. If you need support in healing, so you can be open again, reach out; I’d love to support the two of you in this process.
