Just Say It.

As a middle child, I’m known for not being the best rule follower. In fact, I think that most rules are a starting offer in any good negotiation. Annoying, right? This characteristic is one of the primary reasons I still thank my mom for loving me through the height of my teenage rebellion and rule-breaking.

And as much as I hate rules, I have a few in my home.

The most important ones that I require us all to follow are to…

Say you’re “I love you’s” and your “I’m sorry’s”.

I’m a big believer that when you love someone, you should tell them often and through every channel possible. Actions, words, quality time, hugs, kisses… you get the idea.

I also believe that “I’m sorry’s” are foundational to every relationship. I work really, really hard to say I’m sorry. I wasn’t always good at this and still struggle with it at times… you know how that darn ego can get in the way, but at the end of the day, the quicker you can say I’m sorry and reset, the faster you can find your way back to each other.

And that is my encouragement to you…

Say you’re “I love you’s” and your “I’m sorry’s”.

Take the time to say both as often as possible… your relationship will absolutely benefit from it.

I’m cheering you two on!!

Yours,

-A

P.S. If you’re struggling to say some of the most important things in love… why not check out the Communication Masterclass and work on how to say it all better! It might be just the thing you both need.
