Be the lighthouse.

I had a “super stressful, it’s been so long since that much drama was in my life, I’m so grateful it’s behind me” sort of last few weeks. So bad that I threw out my back and had a terrible migraine… all stress related. I was eating like garbage and having a too regular glass of wine in the evenings.

And all I can say is that I’m glad that stress has resolved and life has returned back to my normal pace of crazy. I can absolutely manage the frantic, the busy, and the chaotic. But I have no ability to manage unnecessary drama and worry. It’s not my jam and I sort of self-destruct when it happens.

With that being said, it’s resolved and in the past… thank goodness!

And now that it’s behind me, all I can think about is my lighthouse. Well, there were a few lighthouses to be more accurate… but I’m most grateful for the lighthouse of my husband.

Despite my literal spinning out as I worked to find the most livable resolution, my partner helped me feel not so alone as I got my footing back.

And that is my simple yet very personal encouragement this week…

Be the lighthouse in each other’s storm.

When the weather is raging on the outside, give each other a hug.

When the rain is pounding and there’s thunder booming around you, offer each other shelter.

And when you just don’t know how to stop the lightning from striking, call it a day and help each other ground.

You can’t avoid the stress that finds its way into your life, but you can choose how you show up for each other. And I so hope you choose love and comfort amongst it all.

Yours,

-A
