Make Your Choice...

I make so many mistakes… there I’ve said it… I’ve admitted it... I’m 100% human.

In fact, just the other day… my kids were driving me crazy… squabbling, complaining, and I turned around to bark at them… only to turn back around to see a good friend parked next to me with their window down… oops.

I felt like such a jerk… not only to have my friend see me acting so rude but also that I let my own exhaustion and frustration justify me behaving badly.

So like I said… I make mistakes.

And what I have found in life… in parenting… and in love… is that when it comes to mistakes... you have two choices…

Sit in it or learn from it. You choose.

You can sit there beating yourself up for what you can’t change or you can clean it up and learn from it.

You can torture yourself with “what if’s” and “if only’s” or you can take a deep breath, remember you’re also human, and do better next time.

Unless you have some magic power to turn back time and do it all over again… you’re just like the rest of us and you’ll have to choose what to do next instead.

I hope that you make the choice to learn from it. To forgive. To apologize. To heal. To release. To move forward.

To learn from it. Not to sit in it.

You so got this!!

Until next week,

-A

P.S. If mistakes of the past are keeping you stuck and you can’t seem to forgive yourself (or each other), please reach out for support. That’s what I’m here for.
