Effort Really Does Make a Difference

I know there is lots of controversy in the youth sports world about everyone getting a trophy.  And, I have my opinions about rewarding EVERYONE for a job well done despite a losing season. But, I’m not here to discuss that…I swear.

With that being said, I do think everyone deserves recognition for the effort they’re putting in and the strides they’re making towards growth.

In fact, when you’re working your tail off in love, and no one notices, it can really get inside your head and make you doubt whether the effort is even worth it.  I really believe that when you’re trying your best, even when it falls short, that it’s still worthy of recognition.

Now, I’m not saying that “trying” should trigger a ticker tape parade in your honor, but effort is effort my friend, and we should be celebrating it. No one ever ran a marathon the first day of training, and no one ever made huge strides in love by doing it perfectly.

Challenge yourself to try and realize that all that effort WILL make a difference, even if you’re not doing it perfectly out the gate.

I know you can do it,
