Have fun together!!

Sometimes the simplest solution is the hardest in application. I often get asked what is the fastest way to rebuild connection, and although the simple answer of ‘find ways to have fun together’ is honest and real, it’s often hard for couples to get behind.

I think most of them expect me to say something much more deeply therapeutic or stress the importance of long emotional conversations, but the truth is, the more you can find ways to have fun together, the more you’re able and willing to dive into the deeper issues that need attention too.

When you’re tired, stressed or overwhelmed, it’s hard to be present in the moment. And having fun requires you to be present.  Hence why simple isn’t always easy.

The point is, having fun together is really important to your partnership.

Seeking out small ways to create joy together. Taking a step back from the craziness of life and just laughing as a couple.  Creating little points of connection that yield huge opportunities for fun.

When in doubt, take a moment and find ways to just have fun together. It’s not going to fix everything but it sure as heck is going to increase your bandwidth to also tackle the other stuff… together.

You got this,

P.S. Yes, relationships take work, but they’re also supposed to be joyful. If it’s been a while since the two of you had fun together, then now’s the time to plan it. Overwhelmed with where to start? Send me an email… I have some small suggestions that might help.
