Have You Thanked Someone Lately?

Do you write thank you notes

Were you tortured as a child like me and had to write a thank you note in what felt like the moment after you opened your last birthday present?

Well if you were, you have my deepest sympathies, because yes, my mom always made us sit down and write our thank you notes before we got too far into our new gift receiving bliss.

And do you want know what I do now as an adult because of this experience?

Yup, you guessed it….I write thank you notes. AND I make my kids write thank you notes.

I know that gratitude is one of the most important languages you can speak in your relationships and yet it’s one you can often forget about altogether.  Handwriting a letter and sending it in the mail is the opposite of fast paced and efficient. I get it. They call it snail mail for a reason!

And yet, this week I want to challenge you to return to the art of “thank you”. I want you to pause, pull out your phone, open up your email or grab a piece of paper and take a moment to thank your partner. It can be a big thank you or a small one. The important thing is getting into the habit of saying it.

Save this meme as a reminder to say thank you in love more and more often.

Yours,

-A
