When It's Hard To Say Sorry...

I’m all about self-reflection. In fact, I’m comfortable enough to say that I have many strengths (or so I like to believe) but saying sorry is not one of them.

Now over the years, I’ve gotten better at it, but it’s not in my nature to admit that I was wrong. In fact, I’m really really good at seeing every shade of grey around in order to attempt to justify my actions and/or choices in hopes that it puts me a little bit less in the wrong. AND it’s a horrible trait.

Knowing this about myself, I work really hard to just admit when I’m wrong. Say, “I’m sorry”. Say, “I messed up”. Say, “I regret my actions”. And then, zip the lip.

If you spend your time justifying why you did what you did, you fall farther and farther away from the people you care about the most.

If you’re a great apologizer, I’m excited to know you! If saying your sorry is a challenge for you…I feel you. It’s my growth edge. It’s where I will always continue to grow.  And I hope you’re willing to grow along with me here too.

Save this meme and come back to it over and over as a reminder that when you’re wrong, you just need to say so. Period.

Keep at it and I promise you it gets easier.

Best of luck,
