Be Present Over Perfect!

No relationship is perfect. I get it.

And, just because something isn’t perfect, doesn’t mean you stop working at it.

If you just stopped trying everything because things weren’t perfect, then this would be the logic that follows

The dinner I cooked was less than stellar, so we’ll just eat out from now on.

I made another grammatical error in my weekly newsletter, I will never send another one out again.

I got frustrated and barked at my kids, so I must send them off to live with Grammie.

And none of that makes any sense.

I’m not perfect, you’re not perfect, we’re not perfect.

Never were and never will be.

And our lack of being perfect (ever) doesn’t mean you stop working to get better.

Because…

'No relationship is perfect’ shouldn’t be used as a rationalization for complacency.

Keep working.

Keep trying.

Keep forgiving.

Keep laughing.

Keep asking for help.

Celebrate the gains and don’t use “perfect” as a barometer in love!!

You got this!!
