Spend it wisely

Our elementary school had its Harvest Festival two weeks ago and it was an absolute blast. It’s the first time we’ve had a school-wide festival since Fall of 2019, so you can only imagine the gigantic turnout we had. Just imagine 3 years of pent-up excitement and enthusiasm all coming together for 2.5 hours of fun!!!

And yours truly decided it was totally within her schedule to raise her hand and head up the planning committee. Although it was a complete labor of love, it was absolutely worth it. There were so many people that gave their ideas, their resources, their enthusiasm, and their time. It was my sole purpose to ensure that everyone who volunteered felt their time was valued and used wisely.

Because our time is an absolute commodity. When you give your time to put together an event, to collaborate on a project at work, or to slow down together… it is spent so wisely.

But when you unintentionally squander away minutes (and hours) scrolling, swiping, and zoning out, it’s likely you’re not spending your most precious asset very consciously. Which can be a terrible thing.

My encouragement to you this week is to…

Spend your time wisely.

Spend it checking in. Spend it slowing down. Spend it leaning in. Spend it intentionally. And most importantly, spend it together.

Until next week,

-A

P.S. If you’re struggling to find intentional ways to spend time together or if it feels awkward when you’re trying to reconnect, reach out! I’ve got some ideas that might help.
