What is your partner's love language?

It’s a no brainer that we speak the language we’ve been taught. Unless you’ve had the gift of growing up in a multilingual household, you’re most likely speaking the single language you were taught.

For the most part, this doesn’t cause too many issues… that is until you decide to travel, explore, or immerse yourself into a land/region/community that does not speak your language. Then… you’re pretty much screwed and need to get to translating pretty quickly.

And that’s if a translation dictionary even exists. Add on the complexities of the language you speak in love and man oh man do you have the potential for a garbled mess in communication. Because if you’re speaking the language you’ve been taught and you’re mates speaking the one they’ve been taught AND they’re different…. wowzas!!

But all is not lost, especially if you are able to slow down and learn your mate’s love language.

Because at the end of the day… in order to communicate well in love…

You need to know your partner’s love language. You need to learn it and practice it often.

Knowing your mate’s love language isn’t the end all be all… there is usually lots of healing that needs to take place if it’s been a while since you two were making sense in love. But it’s a really good place to start.

If you’re interested in learning your partner’s love language… check out this link for a short quiz to better know each other’s love languages… and get to speaking to your mate in the ways THEY receive love.

Yours,

-A

P.S. And if learning to speak each other’s love language seems like a drop in the bucket to the healing that the two of you need… please reach out. I’m here to help in all the ways I can.
