Just The One.

I get that change can be a process and it takes a while to see the results of your efforts. I also get that not seeing the impact of your efforts can be disheartening. And it’s these reasons why folks can often give up hope that things are in fact changing. You see, when it comes to change, we can sometimes go about it all the wrong way.

You’re frustrated… you want results… you want improvement and in that frenzy, you accidentally make a list of ALL the things that need to get better or ALL of the things you are going to do to make it better, and then you get overwhelmed, torch the list, and are back at square one. Phew!

You forget that when it comes to change, you’re better off going 12 inches in one direction than 1 inch in 12 directions.

And that is absolutely my encouragement this week…

To start with one thing.

When it comes to love and your relationship, start with one thing. Work together to identify one habit the two of you need to break or one communication tool you need to apply more consistently and then get to working on it. JUST. THE. ONE. THING.

Start small, set yourselves up for success, and then (and only then) when you’ve accomplished that goal… move right along to the next one.

Over time, those goals and changes will start to stack up and create exponential growth that the two of you can stand back and admire together.

You can do this… I’m cheering you on!

P.S. If you’re feeling lost when it comes to where to start or what to do, please reach out. This is exactly what I’m here for. To help slow down the overwhelm and get the two of you unstuck.
